LOS ANGELES — The Nuggets defeated the Clippers 103-90 in their preseason finale Thursday night with the starters playing into the second half. A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy was seriously injured Thursday evening after they were injured by a vehicle used by a fleeing burglary suspect.It happened around 4:40 p.m. near the intersection of San Vicente Boulevard and Cynthia Street in West Hollywood.According to the Sheriff's Department, deputies from the West Hollywood station responded to a report of a burglary. Deputies eventually located the suspect's vehicle and a brief pursuit began.When the chase ended, the deputy was injured by the suspect's vehicle. Officials did not say if the deputy was hit by the vehicle, if the vehicle rolled into them or something else happened that led to the deputy being injured.Video from Sky5 showed what appeared to be the deputy sitting in the front passenger seat of an LASD cruiser before paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived on scene to render first air.The deputy suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital. (KRON) -- A man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with two homicides that happened outside a San Leandro gym, the San Leandro Police Department said. The killings happened on Sept. 14 and Sept. 24 outside 24-Hour Fitness Bayfair, located at 304 Bayfair Mall. In both cases, SLPD was called to the gym in the late morning for an unconscious man inside a vehicle in the parking lot. Both times, police found a dead man with a gunshot wound. "We understand this case garnered a lot of community attention and generated an understandably high level of concern for safety, particularly at 24-Hour Fitness Bayfair," said SLPD Lieutenant Abe Teng. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Three United States Postal Services workers were assaulted and robbed within days of each other in San Francisco's Mission District, USPS confirmed to KRON4. The first robbery happened Saturday at about 5:15 p.m. in the area of 17th Street and Guerrero Street. The mail carrier was shoved and postal keys were stolen, but the victim was not seriously injured, USPS said.
